Job summary

Corning's Test and Qualification Laboratory in Keller, TX is seeking a Lab Supervisor to oversee optical test systems and a team of technicians and engineers. You will manage qualification programs, calibrations, and capability development, ensuring alignment with the lab's capability roadmap.

Qualifications

BSc in Engineering or Optical Physics required.
5+ years of engineering experience in optics/optical metrology.
Hands-on experience with fiber optic components and test equipment.
Strong knowledge of statistical data analysis.

Responsibilities

Supervise all activity in a fiber optic testing laboratory.
Interface with internal customers for test programs and communications.
Evaluate new measurement systems and automation per lab roadmap.
Maintain a robust calibration program for all lab equipment.
Develop budgets, schedules and performance standards for the lab.
Represent lab in ISO 17025 audits.
Recruit, hire, integrate talent, and develop a skilled workforce.
Define capital needs for laboratory equipment, write ARs, order and implement equipment.
Build global linkages to other testing groups within Corning.
Keep up to date with evolving fiber optic technology and testing procedures.
