Job summary

Target Optical is seeking a Part-Time Optometric Technician in Camarillo, CA to deliver exceptional patient service and support the optometrist with pre-exam testing and frame/lens selection. You will greet guests, manage paperwork, and operate the POS system with accuracy.

The role requires at least one year of guest service, HS diploma or GED, strong communication, math, and retail knowledge; experience with cash registers and computers is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year strong guest service skills.
• High School Graduate /GED or equivalent experience.
• Strong communicator and listener to guests and associates.
• Strong basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Strong interpersonal skills (friendly, caring, patient).
• Sales skills and knowledge of store merchandise.
• Familiarity with cash register, computers and calculators.

Responsibilities

• Greets guests without delay when they enter.
• Determines the reason for the guest's visit and explains how to shop at Target Optical.
• Reviews prescriptions and patient information carefully; identifies special needs and consults with Opticians or Doctor when necessary.
• Performs pre-examination testing with accuracy and explains measurements to patients.
• Operates the POS system and handles payment processing accurately.
• Maintains the appearance of the store and displays clean, organized.
• Provides coaching and guidance on contact lens care and handling.
