Job summary

United Health Centers is seeking an Optical Technician to work with our optometry team. You will assist the optometrist, fit and dispense eyeglasses or contacts, read prescriptions, and educate patients on lens options.

You’ll manage optical inventory and ensure smooth patient flow after eye exams while maintaining confidentiality and strong customer service. Two+ years in an optical setting are preferred, CPR certification is required, and bilingual abilities (English/Spanish) are a plus.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED required; optician license preferred.
• Preferred optical experience or optician license.
• CPR certification required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in an optical setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt optical support and promote a smooth patient flow.
• Educate patients on lens and frame options; read prescriptions.
• Explain insurance benefits and obtain authorizations when needed.
• Maintain optical inventory and restock glasses and supplies.
• Communicate clearly with patients and team; ensure confidentiality.
