United Health Centers of the San Joaquin Valley is seeking an Optical Technician to join our Optometry team. Work with the optometrist to assist patients, fit and dispense eyeglasses or contacts, and explain insurance coverage.

The role requires reading prescriptions, maintaining optical inventory, and ensuring smooth patient flow from exam to vision supply delivery. CPR certified and optician license preferred; bilingual skills welcomed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2 years in an optical setting.
• CPR certificate required; optician license preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Strong customer service, communication, and computer skills.

Responsabilités

• Provide optical support and assist patients with glasses and lenses.
• Maintain optical inventory and restock as needed.
• Explain insurance benefits and assist with authorizations and billing.
• Read prescriptions and educate patients on lens/frame choices.
• Maintain patient flow after eye exams and ensure timely delivery of vision supplies.
• Respect confidentiality and communicate with team to ensure quality care.
