Job summary

Clarkson Eyecare in Chesterfield, MO is seeking an Optical Technician to dispense glasses and contacts, fit frames, and support patients’ medical needs. You will use lensometry equipment and coordinate with ophthalmologists and optometrists to fulfill prescriptions.

Applicants should have a high school diploma, 1 year of customer/patient contact, and familiarity with insurance forms. ABO/ABOC/NCLE are preferred but not required; HIPAA compliance is mandatory.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year in customer/patient interaction.
• Previous medical office or ophthalmic experience preferred.
• ABO/ABOC and NCLE certifications preferred, not required.
• Ability to read and interpret insurance forms and safety documents.
• Compliance with HIPAA and right to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Provide Total Patient Experience to build patient relationships and deliver medical support.
• Assist patients in selecting frames by style and color to fit prescriptions.
• Operate auto-lensometer and manual lensometer for lens fitting.
• Educate and recommend lenses, coatings, and frames to meet needs.
• Dispense glasses and contact lens orders; process orders in E360.
• Maintain organized frame displays and assist with office duties.
