Job summary

Sam's Club in Panama City, FL is hiring for an Optical Associate/Optician role. You will provide member service, assist with eyewear purchases, and educate on health and wellness services.

You will stock and maintain the Optical area, process orders, measure pupillary distance, and ensure calibration of equipment. The position requires state licensure maintenance and ABO/NCLE certifications, with potential for sponsorship of apprentices.

Qualifications

• As required by state regulations, registers and maintains Optician in Charge status.
• Meets continuing education requirements for state licensure/certifications.
• Maintain active state licensure and/or registration.
• Maintains active ABO and/or NCLE certifications through the American Board of Opticianry (ABO) and National Contact Lens Examiners (NCLE).
• Eligible and willing to sponsor Apprentice Optical Technicians as required by state regulations.
• High school diploma, GED or equivalent, unless state specific regulations required advanced education.

Responsibilities

• Provides member service by acknowledging the members, identifying member needs, assisting with members purchases and locating merchandise.
• Educates members on eyewear usage and care and supports contact lens insertions and hygiene guidance.
• Sells Optical products and services by assisting members with purchasing decisions, measuring, adjusting, and repairing frames and lenses, completing eyewear/contact lens orders.
