Job summary

Key Technology in Walla Walla, WA is seeking an Applications Engineering Technician (Optical) to conduct tests on products using optical sorting solutions. You will develop application-specific software and determine sensing/illumination requirements to optimize performance for specific applications.

You will provide onsite and remote support, collaborate with development and service teams, document test procedures and results, and help refine equipment configurations. Some travel is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred with 1–2 years related experience or equivalent.
• Preference for computer/electronic experience and image processing knowledge.
• Familiarity with Windows, UNIX or Linux operating systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop application-specific software solutions for customer needs.
• Determine material handling, sensing illumination, and algorithm requirements.
• Provide onsite and remote support for optical sorting systems.
• Record procedures and results, and prepare test reports for changes.
