Job summary

Key Technology, Inc. in Walla Walla, WA is seeking an Applications Engineering Technician (Optical) to run tests on lab and customer equipment, configure Key’s optical sorting solutions, and optimize performance for specific applications.

The ideal candidate has strong computer/electronics skills and familiarity with image processing and vision systems. You will develop software to meet customer needs, determine sensing and illumination requirements, and collaborate with sales, development, and

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and 1–2 years related experience or equivalent.
Experience with image processing; knowledge of electronics.
Proficient with Microsoft Office; familiarity with Windows/Linux/UNIX.

Responsibilities

Develop application-specific software for customer needs.
Determine material handling, sensing, illumination, and algorithm requirements for the optical sorter.
Propose design improvements and document test results.
Provide onsite and remote support for new optical sorting systems with development and service teams.
Offer technical support to customers, service engineers, sales and marketing on existing and new applications.
Record test procedures and results and recommend changes in product or test method.
Complete trip and test reports thoroughly and promptly.
Analyze results and adjust equipment to meet specifications.
Author performance specifications for equipment based on test data.
Collaborate with engineering and sales teams to aid product development.
