Job summary

PDS Optical is hiring an Optical Shop Administrative Assistant for the Lake Nona VA in Orlando, FL. The role is full-time, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, and no evening or weekend shifts.

Compensation ranges from $20.00 to $23.00 per hour, reflecting a strong focus on serving Veterans. Responsibilities include greeting Veterans, handling daily store operations, and assisting with basic bookkeeping to track orders and payments.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Optical experience is preferred but not required.
• Good computer skills and working knowledge of standard computer equipment.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting.
• Dependable, self-motivated, and customer focused.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, professional, and efficient service to Veterans.
• Assist with duties associated with the daily opening and closing of the store
• Greet and help patients with information necessary to receive their eyewear
• Basic bookkeeping duties associated with tracking patient’s order and recording purchases, collecting payment and other necessary information for each patient
