Job summary

PDS Optical, a SDVOSB serving Veterans, is hiring an Optical Shop Administrative Assistant at the West Palm Beach VA. This full-time role supports daily store operations and patient services in a busy eyewear environment.

You will greet patients, handle basic bookkeeping, and ensure accurate order processing and payments. The schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, with no nights or weekends, offering competitive hourly pay in the Florida market.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Optical experience is preferred but not required.
• Good computer skills and working knowledge of standard computer equipment.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting.
• Dependable, self-motivated, and customer focused.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, professional, and efficient service to Veterans.
• Assist with duties associated with the daily opening and closing of the store
• Greet and help patients with information necessary to receive their eyewear
• Basic bookkeeping duties associated with tracking patient’s order and recording purchases, collecting payment and other necessary information for each patient
