Job summary

The Eye Doctors in Topeka, KS is seeking an Optical Technician to join our team. You will dispense and fit glasses and contacts, working from prescriptions written by Optometrists and Ophthalmologists to deliver a world-class Total Patient Experience.

Ideal candidates will have strong communication, insurance form literacy, HIPAA compliance, and precise measurement skills. The role offers full benefits, 401k with employer matching, PTO, maternity leave, and employee discounts.

Qualifications

• Strong communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
• Ability to read, interpret insurance forms.
• Ability to read safety rules and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
• HIPAA compliance and PHI handling knowledge.
• Proof of identity and right to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Embrace and execute Total Patient Experience to build relationships.
• Determine patient wants and needs and sell to exceed expectations.
• Assist in selecting frames based on style, measurements and prescriptions.
• Operate the auto-lensometer and manual lensometer.
• Educate and recommend lenses, coatings and frames.
• Accurately collect measurements (bridge, eye size, PD, etc.).
• Dispense orders and repair/adjust frames; process orders in E360.
