Boscov's Department Store, LLC is seeking an Optical Associate to join our Optical team. This part-time position emphasizes customer service, lens measurements, and eyewear fittings in a full-service department.

You will verify prescriptions, operate lensometer, autorefractor, and NCT, assist customers, reconcile transactions, and maintain a clean, compliant optical area in line with HIPAA standards. Previous optical or retail experience is preferred; strong communication, fashion sense, and

Qualifications

• 1 year of optical experience.
• 1 year retail store experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Prior sales experience, preferred.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Must have the ability to prioritize.
• Ability to work as a team member.
• Must have a strong sense of fashion and trends.
• Knowledge of the proper use of lensometer, autorefractor and NCT equipment.
• Position is active and includes moving about throughout department during the shift.

Responsibilities

• Verify prescription orders for accuracy and maintain order files.
• Deliver exceptional customer service in person and by phone.
• Interpret prescriptions, perform optical measurements, and recommend frame/lens options.
• Manage order fulfillment and process sales and payments.
• Perform eyewear fittings, adjustments, and repairs.
• Operate optical equipment per procedures.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and confidentiality.
• Assist Optical Manager with opening/closing and POS tasks.
• Foster positive relationships with store leadership and colleagues.
• Keep the optical department clean, organized, and customer-friendly.
