Big City Optical is seeking a General Manager to oversee our Optical Retail Store in Chicago. You will drive customer satisfaction, manage daily operations and lead a team of dedicated optical professionals toward excellence in eye care.

The role emphasizes recruiting and developing staff, setting sales targets, managing budgets, inventory and merchandising, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards while delivering a superior shopping experience.

Qualifications

• 3 years of optical experience required.
• 3 years in retail supervisory roles with a track record of achieving sales targets.
• Excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills.
• Knowledge of eyewear products and industry trends.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, train, mentor and supervise a high-performing team of optical associates.
• Foster a positive work environment encouraging collaboration and growth.
• Set sales targets and motivate staff to meet and exceed them.
• Prepare promotional materials and in-store displays.
• Ensure staff are versed in Big City Optical's value proposition and communicate it to clients.
• Oversee schedules, ensure coverage, and manage store budgets and financial records.
• Lead staff meetings and cascade communications from leadership.
• Oversee stock levels and coordinate with inventory for merchandising.
• Champion a customer-centric culture and resolve complaints promptly.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
