Job summary

Gooch & Housego Rochester GSO in Rochester, NY is seeking a Quality Technician for 2nd shift to support in-process and final inspections of precision optical components. You will perform dimensional measurements, optical non-contact inspection, and document results.

Requires a High School Diploma; an Associates degree is preferred, and experience in optical manufacturing or inspection is required. Familiarity with MIL PRF-13830B and measurement tools is preferred; strong teamwork and adherence

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
Associates degree in a technical discipline preferred.
Optical manufacturing and/or inspection experience.
Medical device manufacture or inspection in FDA/ISO 13485 facility experience.
Six Sigma and/or lean manufacturing knowledge.
Optical inspection equipment experience (interferometer).
Mechanical measurement tools (calipers, CMM, profilometer).

Responsibilities

Perform dimensional measurements with manual gauges and computer-controlled gauges.
Perform optical non-contact inspection using interferometer methods.
Perform visual inspection of optical parts per MIL PRF-13830B.
Notify production of inspection results.
Identify and report nonconformance to maximize yields.
Document inspection results in Excel files.
Summarize daily activities and inspection stats.
Apply flash coating to samples using a vacuum chamber.
