Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC in Redmond, WA, is hiring a Manufacturing Specialist (Optical Production) on 2nd shift to support Starlink optical assemblies and related production lines. You will execute configuration changes, develop processes, triage test data, and collaborate to improve yield, cost, and schedule adherence while maintaining safety and quality.

Lift up to 25 pounds; extended hours may be required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years manufacturing/engineering experience or a STEM degree.
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in engineering, math or science.
  • Experience as Lead Technician in assembly/test of sub-assemblies.
  • Ability to read, understand and follow schematics, drawings and instructions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Outlook).
  • Adaptable to fast-paced work and changing assignments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Execute and manage new configuration introduction into production area.
  • Perform process development and validation on new designs on aggressive timelines.
  • First-level triage of test failures by reading test logs and telemetry.
  • Assess non-conforming hardware and drive resolution and preventative actions.
  • Design and implement assembly fixtures to improve manufacturing process.
  • Identify and implement changes to design, process, safety, and floor layout to improve yield, performance, and cost.
  • Implement standard practices, troubleshooting guides, and standard repair procedures.
  • Identify, develop, and provide training to production technicians on new or updated processes.
  • Create and support equipment maintenance and calibration schedules.
