Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Seattle is seeking an Optical Network Development Engineer to build, deploy, and scale the Amazon networks that support AWS data centers, customers, and business units.

You will contribute to DWDM network design, interconnect data centers, and work with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and cost-efficient network solutions at global scale, with strong emphasis on automation and partnerships.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of network analysis fundamentals and robust troubleshooting.
• 1+ years of experience with optical communication systems and DWDM networks.
• 1+ years of scripting for automation (Python).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with vendors to evaluate new hardware and software features. Create implementations plans for incorporating them into the network.
• Automate optical test plans and qualify optical modules.
• Collaborate with vendors/manufactures in defining and developing test plans for Optical Modules.
• Create processes that help operate and build our DWDM network. Drive scaling current DWDM designs to meet the demand of our customers.
• Drive operational excellence projects to deliver improvements in our DWDM network quality and reliability.
