Job summary

Lumentum Operations LLC is seeking an Optical Module Integration Engineer to drive integration, testing, and validation of advanced optical modules for telecom and data communications products. The role requires collaboration across optical, electrical, firmware, and mechanical teams to ensure module performance within systems.

Responsibilities include planning, testing, automation, data analysis, and documentation to support design reviews and manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Physics, or related field.
Experience with optical module integration, testing, or product development in telecom/datacom.
Strong understanding of lasers, detectors, modulators, amplifiers and their metrics.
Proficiency with optical test equipment and high-speed electronics.
Experience with Python, LabVIEW or MATLAB for test automation.
Ability to analyze data and apply statistical methods.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and execute integration plans for optical modules with transceiver, amplifier, and WSS components.
Characterize and verify optical module performance using optical/electrical test equipment.
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to define interfaces and fix integration issues.
Develop automated test scripts and fixtures for module validation and manufacturing support.
Analyze test data to identify root causes and propose improvements.
Generate detailed test reports, integration guides and troubleshooting procedures.
