Job summary

Applied Optoelectronics, Inc. seeks an Optical Device & Module Integration Engineer to advance the integration of optical devices, electronics, and packaging into modules and transceivers.

You will collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, quality, and reliability teams to improve performance and support new product introductions. Responsibilities include device/module integration, data-driven problem solving for yield and reliability, experimental planning, and documenting requirements and test

Qualifications

• Degree in EE, optics, physics, materials science, mechanical engineering, or related field.
• Experience in optical devices; optical modules/transceivers; alignment and packaging; testing; manufacturing integration; reliability analysis or failure analysis.
• Practical problem-solving and data analysis; ability to work across teams and learn beyond current area.

Responsibilities

• Support device and module integration, including evaluation, assembly, characterization, and testing.
• Investigate performance, yield, and reliability issues by analyzing data with engineering and manufacturing teams.
• Plan and execute experiments to understand interactions among device characteristics, assembly conditions, and module performance.
• Support new product introduction and transfer to production by documenting technical requirements, test methods, and process improvements.
• Communicate findings, recommend corrective actions, and verify their effectiveness.
