Job summary

Corning Incorporated is seeking a Development Engineer to advance optical component design and cable demarcation technologies. You will work with engineers and technicians to define experiments, analyze data, and develop robust processes for manufacturability.

Ideal candidates have a BS in Mechanical Engineering, 1–5 years in a lab setting, and strong problem-solving and communication skills. Travel may be required, and the role offers growth in a global electronics materials environment.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated problem solving techniques.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to interpret drawings/schematics.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint).
• Willingness to travel ~25% including international travel.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers and technicians to design and develop new process methods for multifiber cable breakout points.
• Create operational ranges for parameters defined from experimentation.
• Support project teams and define deliverables and timelines.
• Engage with SMEs to identify key processing technologies and feasibility.
• Coordinate with global plants to ensure manufacturability of solutions.
