Job summary

Clarkson Eyecare is seeking an Optical Technician to dispense glasses and contacts, measure and fit frames, and support patient needs. You will help patients navigate prescriptions written by Optometrists and Ophthalmologists, connecting needs to eyewear and services.

You will perform frame selections using facial measurements, operate lensometry equipment, take precise measurements, and ensure orders are dispensed accurately.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year in a position interacting with customers/patients or equivalent.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• ABO/NCLE certifications preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Embrace and execute our Total Patient Experience to build relationships with all patients while delivering great medical support.
• Determine patient wants and needs and sell to exceed their expectations.
• Assist patients in selecting frames according to style and color, coordinating frames with facial and eye measurements and optical prescriptions.
• Operate the auto-lensometer and manual lensometer.
• Educate and recommend specific lenses, lens coatings and frames to suit patient needs.
• Accurately collect measurements such as bridge, eye size, temple length, segment heights, vertex distance, pupillary distance, and pantoscopic tilt.
• Dispense patient orders and repair and adjust patient frames.
• Dispense all glasses and/or contact lens orders using current process.
