Job summary

AOI is seeking a Product & Component Failure Analysis Engineer in Sugar Land, TX to investigate mechanical, electrical, and optical failure modes in Active Optical Cables and related components. You will identify root causes using analytics and draft 8D reports to prevent recurrence.

You will work with cross-functional teams, review TL 9000 data, and support quality improvements to production yield and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• 1+ year in failure analyses of semiconductor devices or photonics.
• Experience with SEM/EDS/XRD/TEM and related analytics.
• Strong knowledge of optical communications principles.
• Ability to draft and communicate 8D reports.

Responsibilities

• Investigate failure modes of Active Optical Cables and related components.
• Identify root causes and contribute to corrective actions.
• Prepare and review TL 9000 data and reports.
• Review customer issues, RMAs, and maintain records.
• Draft comprehensive 8D reports detailing causes and fixes.
• Support quality teams to improve production yield.
