Job summary

Xcimer Energy in Denver, CO is seeking an Optical Engineer to advance state-of-the-art UV laser systems for inertial fusion. You will own optical beamlines, perform detailed optical analyses, and work with cross-functional teams to deliver high-precision laser and diagnostic systems.

This full-time, on-site role requires 5+ years in optical engineering, and a strong background in tolerancing, AO/tracking, and high-energy UV optics.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of optical engineering experience.
• Ownership of an optical system from concept to hardware.
• Experience with optical design software and tolerancing.

Responsibilities

• Own optical architecture and performance of laser beamlines and diagnostics.
• Analyze beamlines, alignment, tolerancing, and component specs.
• Set optical performance requirements for mounts and lead the opto-mechanical design.
• Collaborate with optics, electronics, and mechanics teams on active beam control systems.
• Source components and manage supplier relationships to support the program.
