Job summary

RTX is seeking a highly skilled Optical Engineer for the Raytheon Electro-Optics (EO) department, focusing on EO sensors/seekers for missiles. You will contribute as both mentee and individual contributor on program activities, performing optical alignment, modeling, and subsystem analysis.

A Master's degree in a STEM field and experience with Electro- Optical subsystems are required; DoD security clearance is preferred. This onsite role is in Tucson, AZ with relocation support available.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering or related STEM obtained prior to start date.
• Experience with Electro-Optical subsystems.

Responsibilities

• Participate as mentee and Individual Contributor supporting program activities.
• Optical alignment/testing of optics assemblies.
• EO modeling, simulation, and analysis applications.
• Requirements development, validation, and subsystem trade studies.
• Design of optical and opto-mechanical seeker systems and/or test fixtures for missiles.
• Work with engineering and production to troubleshoot and provide root cause and corrective action.
• Support production-related activities in the assembly and documentation of electro-optical subsystems.
• Troubleshoot hardware and process issues down to component levels.
• Failure analysis / root cause determination and corrective action implementation.
