Job summary

RTX is seeking an Optical/EO engineering professional for roles in the Raytheon Electro-Optics (EO) department in Tucson, AZ. The position involves design, testing, and analysis of EO subsystems and seeker systems, with a strong emphasis on alignment, modeling, and verification across production and engineering teams.

The role requires a Master’s degree in Optical/Electrical/Systems Engineering and active DoD security clearance.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Optical/Electrical/Systems Engineering obtained before start date.
• Experience with Electro-Optical subsystems.
• ABET accreditation is preferred, but not required.
• Ability to develop and present technical briefings.
• Current/Active DoD security clearance or SSBI preferred.
• Experience with test equipment and sensor control.

Responsibilities

• Support program activities as mentee and Individual Contributor.
• Optical alignment/testing of optics assemblies.
• EO modeling, simulation, and analysis applications.
• Requirements development, requirement validation, and subsystem trade studies.
• Design of optical and opto-mechanical seeker systems and/or test fixtures for missiles.
• Working with engineering and production personnel to troubleshoot and provide root cause and corrective action.
• Support production related activities in the assembly and documentation of electro-optical subsystems.
• Troubleshooting hardware and process issues down to CCA and component levels.
• Resolution of issues on production lines and in testing (including suppliers).
• Failure analysis / root cause determination and corrective action implementation.
