Job summary

RTX, in the Raytheon Electro-Optics (EO) department, provides opportunities to work on sensor/seeker subsystems, detectors, and cryogenic systems. This role emphasizes optical design, modeling, testing, and cross‑functional collaboration to meet stringent aerospace requirements.

Based in Tucson, AZ, the position requires a Master’s in Optical/Electrical/Systems Engineering with active DoD security clearance or the ability to obtain one.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Optical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering (STEM) before start date.
• Experience with Electro-Optical subsystems.

Responsibilities

• Support program activities as mentee and individual contributor.
• Perform optical alignment and testing of optics assemblies.
• Conduct EO modeling, simulation, and analysis.
• Develop requirements, validate them, and conduct subsystem trade studies.
• Design optical and opto‑mechanical seeker systems and test fixtures.
• Collaborate with engineering and production to troubleshoot issues.
• Assist production with assembly and documentation of EO subsystems.
• Troubleshoot hardware/process issues to root cause.
• Address issues on production lines and with suppliers.
• Perform failure analysis and corrective actions.
