Job summary

KLA is seeking optical engineering professionals to advance BBP division wafer inspection products. You will design and integrate optical subsystems, defining system requirements, budgets and metrology, and collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams to deliver advanced imaging solutions.

The role emphasizes architecture development, testing and qualification of optics and opto-mechanical modules, with opportunities to travel internationally up to 15%.

Qualifications

• PhD with related work experience or MS/BS with extensive optics experience.
• Strong background in optical design and engineering.
• Experience with high-precision opto-mechanical assembly and metrology.

Responsibilities

• Identify, develop and document the optical system requirements through communicating with key suppliers as well as internal teams such as marketing, technology, system engineering etc.
• Lead or support to propose subsystem architecture
• Translate requirements into optical architecture features, error budgets and required metrology
• Design new parts, modules and system integration process, toolings
• Test, qualify and release optics/Opto‑mechanical modules and entire subsystem
• Work with suppliers to specify acceptance and improve incoming material quality
• Lead to resolve complex problems for both prototype and released systems.
