Job summary

KLA is seeking a Product Development Engineer to drive next-generation optical critical dimension metrology systems, from evaluation through manufacturing transfer. You will lead design efforts, test and validate components, and coordinate with global teams to resolve complex issues and support customer ramp.

The role requires a PhD or equivalent in optics/physics/engineering, hands-on opto-mechanical expertise, and strong problem-solving and teamwork abilities.

Qualifications

• PhD in optics, physics, systems/ME/EE or related field.
• Hands-on experience aligning opto-mechanical systems.
• Ability to diagnose complex problems across whole systems.
• Strong communication across levels and cultures.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and specs for system components.
• Prototype testing input and test plans.
• Diagnose issues and drive root-cause analyses.
• Coordinate with global engineering teams to implement POA.
• Travel <25% for on-site support.
