Job summary

Walmart Sam's Club Optical is seeking an Optician to provide member-focused eyewear services, assist with purchases, adjustments, and repairs, and maintain the Optical area. You will measure, verify prescriptions, and coordinate with labs and optometrists to ensure accurate dispensing. The role emphasizes compliance, customer care, and effective use of POS systems in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; state licensure or certification as an optician where applicable.
• ABO/NCLE certifications strongly preferred or required by state regulations.
• Active optician licensure/registration as required by state law and practice setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide member service by assisting with eyewear purchases, adjustments, and repairs.
• Maintain Optical area displays and inventory, process prescriptions and orders, and handle payments via POS.
• Educate members on eyewear usage and care, measure pupillary distance, and ensure proper fitting of frames and lenses.
• Schedule appointments, assist labs and optometrists, and support office workflow and compliance with HIPAA.
