Job summary

Pacific Life is seeking an experienced Assistant Vice President, Ops. Technology Transformation Lead to drive a multi-year Operations Transformation initiative focused on digitization, automation, and AI enablement across CMD Operations.

The role leads technical strategy, architecture, and execution, partnering with business leaders in a two-in-a-box model to deliver measurable business outcomes. Onsite location preferred in Newport Beach, CA.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in technology leadership, preferably in life and annuity insurance.
• Proven success leading large-scale transformation programs with measurable outcomes.
• Deep expertise in enterprise architecture, cloud, AI/ML, and automation.
• Strong understanding of agile delivery models, DevSecOps, and product-centric operating models.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience managing hybrid teams and vendor partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve the technical vision for Operations Transformation aligned with enterprise architecture.
• Co-lead cross-functional workstreams with business counterparts and own outcomes.
• Champion modernization by decoupling legacy systems and adopting next-gen platforms and AI capabilities.
• Lead engineering teams across FAST, IVR, GenAI, and automation workstreams.
• Oversee roadmaps, PI planning, and delivery metrics using Agile and DevOps.
• Ensure integration with BAU technology teams while maintaining transformation focus.
• Own architectural decisions across Transformation platforms for scalability and reuse.
• Guide orchestration layers, self-service portals and unified workflows.
• Build and mentor technology teams, incl. staff and contractors.
• Support GenAI Academy and agile/DevOps training; collaborate on workforce planning.
