Job summary

The University of North Florida is seeking an Academic Support Specialist to provide administrative support for students, faculty, and staff. You will handle front desk tasks, respond to inquiries, manage emails and voicemails, and assist with orientations and registration-related duties.

Qualifications

  • Experience working in a fast-paced customer service setting preferred.
  • Higher education experience preferred but not required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and spoken) required.
  • Ability to learn new information through training and provide accurate information.
  • Background and credit check may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to incoming customers as the first point of contact.
  • Manage front office processes.
  • Provide one-on-one assistance in person, via telephone, and e-mail.
  • Manage the Office email inboxes and voicemail boxes.
  • Directs student inquiries appropriately and efficiently.
  • Assist the Director/Associate and Advising staff with New Student Orientations.
  • Assist with End of Term processes.
  • Assist with registration functions such as lifting holds, providing registration overrides.
  • Hires, trains, schedules, and manages student workers; supervise staff.
  • Occasionally work Saturdays to support university events.
