Formación

• Eligible to obtain Florida State CLP license within 90 days.
• Knowledge of laboratory testing principles, techniques, and equipment.
• Strong communication and ability to work independently.

OPS Biological Scientist I position with the Florida Department of Health's Bureau of Public Health Laboratories in Tampa. The incumbent performs non-clinical hemagglutination inhibition testing and highly complex assays on clinical and animal specimens, prepares reagents and media, conducts quality assurance procedures, and analyzes test results in the virology section.

Key qualifications:

• Eligible to obtain State of Florida Clinical Laboratory License as Laboratory Technician (Microbiology or Public Health Microbiology) within 90 days of hire
• Knowledge of laboratory testing principles, techniques, and equipment
• Skill in use of laboratory equipment
• Ability to communicate effectively and work independently
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree and one or more years of experience
