Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a senior engineer to translate customer IT needs into actionable plans and to craft satellite architectures for national security space programs, emphasizing MBSE, cloud migration, and mission management.

Candidates must have 5+ years in national security satellite systems, DoD/IC ground systems experience, and TS/SCI clearance; readiness for a polygraph and to mentor developers is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with national security satellite systems for SIGINT or GEOINT
• Experience with DoD/IC satellite ground systems, including OPIR
• Experience with mission systems and interfacing with mission management planners and operators on a technical level
• Knowledge of mission needs and conveying capabilities of software platforms
• Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam
• Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information

Responsibilities

• Translate customer IT needs and future goals into plans
• Craft and manage emerging satellite architectures for national security space programs
• Support cloud migration, advanced technology integration, and legacy-system modernization
• Develop solutions for Satellite Mission Management challenges
• Mentor developers and help them grow into solutions architects
• Collaborate in person or virtually with colleagues and customers as required by the role
