Addison Group is seeking experienced Ophthalmology Surgery Coders for contract-to-hire opportunities in Phoenix, AZ. The role involves coding ophthalmology procedures, surgeries, and E/M services, and supporting denials, rebills, and charge accuracy.

Openings: 2. Schedule: Mon-Fri, 7:00 AM-4:00 PM AZ Time. Training onsite for up to 90 days, then hybrid—4 days remote, 1 day onsite weekly. Office located in Phoenix, AZ 85016. Start ASAP.

Qualifications

• Experience coding ophthalmology procedures and E/M services.
• Proficient with CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS and coding guidelines.
• AAPC CPC certification preferred; AHIMA accepted.

Responsibilities

• Review and assign accurate CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, and E/M codes.
• Code ophthalmology surgeries and procedures performed in ASC.
• Handle professional and facility-based charges.
• Code anesthesia, pain management, J-codes, and medication-related services.
• Review and resolve clinic denials, coding edits, and rebills.
• Maintain productivity of ~55 charts per day with 95% coding accuracy.
• Collaborate with coding leadership to ensure compliance and timely account completion.

Ophthalmology Surgery Coder

We are seeking experienced Professional Fee Ophthalmology Coders for contract-to-hire opportunities in Phoenix, AZ. This position involves coding ophthalmology procedures, surgeries, and E/M services, along with supporting denials, rebills, and charge accuracy. Candidates must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and adapting to changing priorities.

Key responsibilities include:

• Review and assign accurate CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, and E/M codes.
• Code ophthalmology surgeries and procedures performed in ambulatory surgery centers (ASC).
• Handle professional and facility-based charges.
• Code anesthesia, pain management, J-codes, and medication-related services.
• Review and resolve clinic denials, coding edits, and rebills.
• Maintain productivity of approximately 55 charts per day with 95% coding accuracy.
• Collaborate with coding leadership to ensure compliance and timely account completion.

Qualifications:

• Previous professional fee coding experience, preferably in Ophthalmology.
• Experience coding surgeries, procedures, and E/M services.
• Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, and coding guidelines.
• AAPC CPC certification preferred; other AAPC or AHIMA certifications accepted.
• NextGen experience preferred; familiarity with RVMed and AAPC Codify is a plus.
• Must reside in Arizona and be available for onsite training.
• Strong attention to detail, adaptability, and willingness to receive feedback.
