Job summary

American Vision Partners (AVP) is seeking a Scribe to work with our ophthalmology providers. You will document in the EHR, gather medical information, perform preliminary tests, and help ensure a high-quality patient experience.

You will support the provider by recording dictated information, reviewing preliminary work-ups, and ensuring smooth patient flow. This role offers ongoing opportunities in a growing national eye care network.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• COA or COT preferred.
• Ophthalmology experience is a plus.
• Strong computer skills are required.
• Detail oriented, reliable and able to multi-task.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Flexible schedule Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities

• Scribes for the provider by coding and documenting into the patient’s EHR.
• Reviews patient visit details and preliminary work-up for completeness and accuracy.
• Fills patient rooms as needed.
• Reviews provider schedules to confirm correct patient count.
• Ensures patient visits flow smoothly with provider on time.
• Generates medication prescriptions via Erx as directed.
• Educates patients on ophthalmic conditions and consent.
• Performs pretests such as Goldmann Tonometry and refractions as needed.
• Communicates clinic flow concerns with facilitator and management.
