Job summary

Veterinary Specialty Hospital North County in San Marcos, CA seeks a California Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our Ophthalmology team. The RVT will provide nursing and anesthesia support for advanced ophthalmic diagnostics, treatments, and surgeries, collaborating with a Board-Certified Ophthalmologist.

This role offers growth in specialty medicine, anesthesia, and surgery, with a Monday–Friday day schedule and opportunities to expand clinical skills within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Active California RVT license required.
• Minimum two years veterinary clinical experience.
• Strong anesthesia knowledge and hands-on experience.
• Proficiency in induction, monitoring, and recovery of anesthesia.

Responsibilities

• Assist ophthalmologist with appointments, diagnostics, treatments, and surgery.
• Perform venipuncture and IV catheter placement.
• Calculate and administer medications, fluids, and CRIs.
• Prepare patients for ophthalmic procedures and sterile prep.
• Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia and sedation.
• Maintain accurate medical records and cooperate with the team.
