Job summary

Veterinary Dental Specialties is a specialty referral practice in San Diego dedicated to veterinary dentistry and oral surgery. We are seeking a full-time Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our San Diego team.

This role is ideal for a technician with strong anesthesia skills who enjoys a fast-paced environment and is eager to expand their knowledge of veterinary dentistry. We offer a competitive wage of $32 to $35 per hour, based on experience, along with medical, dental, and vision

Qualifications

• RV T credential required.
• 3+ years veterinary technician experience.
• Able to perform physically demanding work (lift up to 50 pounds).
• Background and drug screening required; THC not tested.
• Willingness to travel to other locations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for anesthesia including IV catheter placement and pre-anesthetic assessments.
• Induce, monitor, and recover patients under general anesthesia.
• Monitor anesthetic parameters (ECG, blood pressure, SpO2, EtCO2, temp, ventilation).
• Administer anesthetic and analgesic medications under veterinary supervision.
• Assist with advanced dental and oral surgery procedures.
• Perform dental radiographs and prophylaxis.
• Assist with Cone Beam CT (CBCT) imaging; experience is a plus.
• Maintain accurate medical, anesthetic, and diagnostic records.
• Assist with inventory management and equipment maintenance.
• Support training and mentoring of vet techs and students.
• Maintain a clean, organized, efficient work environment.
• Communicate effectively with doctors and team members to ensure excellent patient care.
