The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a Laboratory Research Technician I to support ophthalmology research focused on retinal degeneration and regeneration. You will perform experiments, manage zebrafish lines, and assist with day‑to‑day lab operations in a collaborative team.

Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in biology or related field and experience with molecular biology techniques. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and with others are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biology, molecular biology or related field.
• Experience preferred with zebrafish husbandry, high-resolution imaging, histology, and standard molecular biology techniques.

Responsabilités

• Conduct experiments including drug screening, histology, confocal imaging, zebrafish behavior assays, and microinjection.
• Maintain detailed, accurate records of experimental data and document results.
• Maintain zebrafish stocks and databases, monitor health, and perform genotyping.
• Sterilize materials, prepare solutions, and maintain a clean, safe lab environment.
• Manage laboratory supplies, including ordering, tracking, and organizing materials.
