Job summary

Harvard University’s Faculty of Arts and Sciences is seeking an Animal Technician to manage daily care and husbandry of zebrafish in a research setting, following safety and animal welfare protocols.

You will perform health observations, maintain clean, sanitized facilities, and record environmental data; assist with spawning, genotyping, and data analysis; and provide occasional weekend coverage. The appointment is one year with the possibility of extension based on performance and funding.

Qualifications

• At least six months experience in animal care or equivalent.
• BA/BS or College background in Biology is strongly preferred and advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily health observations of zebrafish and document findings.
• Maintain clean, sanitized aquatics facility and monitor environmental conditions.
• Assist with spawning animals, genotyping and data analysis under supervision.
• Support room training and provide weekend coverage as needed.
