Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent; professional training preferred.
• Experience submitting billings for health care is preferred.
• Knowledge of billing and diagnostic codes (ICD-10, CPT) preferred.
• Knowledge of ophthalmology billing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assign procedural and diagnostic codes and enter them with facility charges.
• Create and mail insurance billings and patient statements regularly.
• Post payments and adjustments to accounts daily; process refunds.
• Review accounts monthly for activity and pursue nonpayment with payers.
• Generate monthly reports for Administration and maintain AR within guidelines.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and professional conduct with staff and patients.
• Provide registration, reception, and insurance verification support as needed.
