Job summary

Chicagoland Surgery Centers in Oakbrook Terrace, IL seeks a PRE/PACU Registered Nurse to provide pre-op and post-anesthesia care for ophthalmology procedures. The role emphasizes patient safety, assessment, and recovery monitoring in a fast-paced surgical setting.

Ideal candidate has an Illinois RN license, BLS/ACLS, at least 1 year PACU/pre-op experience, and strong communication and collaboration with the surgical team.

Qualifications

• Current and valid Illinois RN license.
• BLS and ACLS certification required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in pre-operative or PACU preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients preoperatively and ensure readiness for eye surgery.
• Monitor and document vital signs and responses post-anesthesia.
• Provide compassionate care during the recovery phase.
• Administer medications and perform interventions as prescribed.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to develop and implement care plans.
• Educate patients and families on post-operative care and outcomes.
• Ensure accurate completion of documentation in a timely manner.
• Uphold safety standards and regulations per hospital protocols.
• Participate in improvement initiatives to enhance patient care quality.
