Job summary

FamilyCare Health Centers in South Charleston, WV is seeking a Patient Services/Ophthalmology Technician to join our site.

This role blends front-office duties with clinical support, including patient registration, appointment scheduling, and basic ophthalmic testing while ensuring patient care and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required and completion of an ophthalmic technician program preferred.
• COT certification is preferred; exam through JCAHPO.
• Experience with front-office patient registration and data entry is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients, manage data entry and scheduling.
• Check-in and check-out patients; verify insurance cards and collect copays.
• Answer calls, route messages, and maintain patient confidentiality.
• Prepare examination rooms and assist with ophthalmology procedures.
• Administrative duties: chart prep, appointment reminders, and records release.
