Job summary

Kaiser Permanente Northwest in Salem, Oregon is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to support patient care in the Skyline Medical Offices. You will perform visual tests, assist physicians, and help prepare for procedures while maintaining EMR accuracy.

Two years of ophthalmic technician experience is preferred; familiarity with OCT, HRT, perimetry, and Amsler tests is advantageous. This is a part-time, onsite role with a focus on patient-centered ophthalmic care.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Screen patients and obtain ocular history and current medications.
• Perform ophthalmic testing (visual fields, tonometry, lensometry).
• Assist doctors during examinations and minor procedures.
• Prepare exam rooms, sterilize instruments, and maintain EMR entries.
• Coordinate with administrative staff and support patient flow.
