Job summary

NYU Langone Health’s Ophthalmology department in Manhattan seeks an experienced Ophthalmic Technician to support diagnosis and treatment of eye disorders. You will perform acuity tests, intraocular pressure measurements, slit lamp examinations, and related assessments under supervision.

Qualifications

• To qualify you must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Five (5) or more years of experience as an Ophthalmic Technician in a retina practice preferred.
• Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) from a JCAHPO-approved institutional course preferred or working towards certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs other duties as assigned.
• All patient correspondence including Disability Forms, Patient Education, Surgical Consent Forms.
• Slit Lamp Examinations
• Completes Medical History, Lensometry, Auto Refracting, Pam Testing, Glare Testing.
• Performs all aspects of visual acuity testing and Visual Field Testing.
