We're looking for a skilled, detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our clinical team and play a key role in delivering outstanding pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care.

About the Role

You’ll work closely with our refractive surgeons and clinical team to perform comprehensive diagnostic testing, educate patients, support surgical flow, and help patients achieve life-changing vision outcomes. This is a hands‑on position in a high‑technology environment where precision, efficiency, and genuine patient care matter every day.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform complete refractive workups and diagnostic testing, including:
  • Visual acuity (distance & near)
  • Manifest and cycloplegic refraction
  • Pachymetry, wavefront analysis, and pupil size measurements
  • Tonometry, slit‑lamp assessment, and other requested testing
  • Obtain detailed medical and ocular histories and accurately document findings in the EMR
  • Educate patients on refractive procedures, expectations, pre‑op preparation, and post‑op care
  • Prepare patients for surgery, assist in the laser suite, and support sterile technique
  • Perform daily laser system checks, calibrations, and basic troubleshooting as trained
  • Maintain exam lanes and surgical equipment; manage inventory of supplies and medications
  • Support efficient clinic flow and provide exceptional patient service at every touchpoint
Qualifications
  • Previous experience as an Ophthalmic Technician, Ophthalmic Assistant, or similar role (refractive / LASIK experience strongly preferred)
  • Proficiency with common ophthalmic diagnostic equipment
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical setting
  • Excellent interpersonal and patient education skills
  • Comfortable working in a surgical environment and following strict protocols
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; COA, COT, or willingness to obtain certification preferred
  • Ability to work full‑time clinic hours (typically Monday-Friday; occasional flexibility for surgical schedules)
What We Offer
  • Competitive hourly pay (commensurate with experience)
  • Opportunity to work with advanced refractive technology and skilled surgeons
  • Supportive, team‑oriented culture focused on excellent patient outcomes
  • Training and growth opportunities in refractive surgery
  • Benefits package (details provided during the interview process)

If you're passionate about vision correction and thrive in a collaborative, technology‑driven refractive practice, we'd love to hear from you.
