Job summary

The University Hospitals ophthalmology team in Cleveland is seeking a dedicated ambulatory care assistant to support clinicians and help deliver high-quality patient care.

You will obtain patient ocular and medical histories, perform visual acuity tests, and assist with diagnostic testing under supervision, including refractometry, keratometry, topography, pachymetry, and IOP checks. You will communicate effectively with patients and physicians and provide age-appropriate care.

Qualifications

• Obtain patient ocular and medical history.
• Perform visual acuity.
• Perform diagnostic testing under supervision including visual field testing, refractometry, keratometry, topography, pachymetry, and intraocular pressure check.
• Provide age-specific care to patients from toddlers through elderly.
• Provide other patient services and education as requested by physicians.
• Must abide by PHI privacy requirements and UH policies.
