Job summary

Qualifications

• Required: High School Diploma/GED or equivalent OR 2 years of work experience in Optometry/Ophthalmology.
• Preferred: Ophthalmic Assistant Program accreditation or technical school in the field.

Responsibilities

• Assess ophthalmic status and perform emergency procedures as needed.
• Perform diagnostics, take history, test vision, dispense contacts, and assist physicians.
• Educate patients and document patient interactions.
• Collect medical history, eye measurements, and determine intraocular pressure.
• Support ophthalmologists in treatment of eye diseases and disorders.
• Prepare and maintain examination equipment and rooms.
• Contribute to the team to ensure quality patient care.
• Manage medication supply, ordering, and inventory.
