Job summary

Ochsner Health System seeks an Ophthalmic Technician to provide direct patient care under supervision, support delivery of ophthalmic services, and maintain efficient clinic operations.

Responsibilities include patient preparation, documentation, and assisting with a range of ophthalmic tests and procedures. BLS is required; COT preferred. High school diploma required; a Bachelor's in Ophthalmic Medical Technology is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor's degree in Ophthalmic Medical Technology preferred.
• 2 years experience in ophthalmic assisting or Associate’s degree preferred.
• BLS certification with American Heart Association required; COT preferred.

Responsibilities

• Enable clinic operations by managing patient flow in exam rooms.
• Retrieve and collate patient information for provider.
• Prepare patients for provider exam and assist with tests.
• Document vital signs, history, test results in medical records.
