Job summary

Family Health Centers of San Diego is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician II to support the vision clinic under the supervision of an Optometrist and Ophthalmologist. This role performs advanced patient care tasks, maintains inventory, and processes supplies in a friendly, professional manner.

Requirements include 2+ years as an Ophthalmic Technician, completion of an Optometry Technician course or internal training, a high school diploma, and CPR certification.

Qualifications

• 2+ years as Ophthalmic Technician required.
• Graduation from a course for Optometry Technician or completion of internal training and competencies required.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Current CPR (BLS) required.

Responsibilities

• Answers phones and greets patients in a pleasant and professional manner.
• Performs advanced patient care tasks and assists ophthalmologists.
• Maintains vision clinic inventory and orders supplies.
• Performs lab work and documentation for patient visits.
• Performs visual field testing and imaging as needed.
• Disposes and maintains clinic equipment and supplies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
