Job summary

Family Health Centers of San Diego is seeking an experienced Ophthalmic Technician to join our vision clinic in San Diego. You will greet patients, assist with frames and lenses, perform lensometry, and support the ophthalmologist during examinations.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of ophthalmic experience, completion of an Optometry Technician program or equivalent training, and current CPR/BLS certification. We offer competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience as an Ophthalmic Technician.
• Graduation from a course for Optometry Technician or equivalent.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent education/experience.
• Current CPR/BLS and ALS/ATLS or equivalent resuscitation training.

Responsibilities

• Answers phones and greets patients professionally.
• Calls patients when orders arrive and schedules appointments.
• Assists patients with frame and lens selection and lab orders.
• Performs lensometry, autorefractometer, and ancillary tests.
• Dispenses and adjusts eyeglasses; trains in contact lens care.
• Maintains clinic supplies and documentation for patient visits.
