Job summary

Family Health Centers of San Diego in San Diego, CA is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician II (Float) to support the Optometrist and Ophthalmologist, perform advanced patient tasks, and manage the Vision Clinic inventory.

Candidates must have at least 2 years’ ophthalmic experience, complete an Optometry Technician course or equivalent training, a high school diploma, and CPR/BLS certification. This role requires proficiency with lensometry, exam room prep, and patient education on ocular health.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience as an Ophthalmic Technician required.
• Graduation from a course for Optometry Technician or completion of internal training and competencies required.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Assists Ophthalmologists with patient care in a professional manner.
• Performs vision testing, lab orders, and lensometry as needed.
• Maintains Vision Clinic inventory and orders supplies from vendors.
